Supporting people to access food during the coronavirus crisis

Support is available from several organisations.

Blackawton Parish Council
The Parish Council is coordinating the Blackawton community response to the COVID-19 or coronavirus outbreak.
We want to make sure that help is available for anyone in the Parish who needs it, and that the efforts of anyone able to offer help are used effectively. Help is available for picking up shopping & grouping delivery orders, prescriptions and more.

Other initiatives available to residents are:

Dartmouth Caring
 Shopping – will go out and shop for you and deliver this to your door.
 Meals on Wheels Service – weekdays
 Deliveries from the Food Bank
 Also – Prescription delivery and collection, Telephone Befriending, and Benefit support and advice.

Government Food Parcels
To support those 1.5 million identified by the NHS as extremely vulnerable and sent letters to the registered home address.
Food parcels are being distributed by South Hams District Council.
