Sewage Overflow Incident at Normandy Cross- Photos request & Environment Agency Details

There was an incident on Saturday 3 October with a manhole at Normandy Cross (TQ9 7BN) overflowing during heavy rain, and sewage  being carried by vehicles down Main Street. The Parish Council has reported the incident to South West Water and to the Environment Agency.  SWW attended promptly on the Saturday and stopped the overflow.

Of most interest to the EA is that there is a risk that the sewage flows into a tributary of the Slapton Ley Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
